Saudi Arabia has declared a 24-hour curfew across all cities and regions in the Kingdom for the Eid holidays, from Saturday 23rd May until Wednesday 27th May – a total of 5 days.
Due to the current lockdown restrictions, this means that the 24-hour curfew will begin at 1700 on Friday 22nd May.
If you are an Iqama holder, you can apply to be authorised to travel (for grocery shopping or a pharmacy visit) using the Tawakkalna app. Currently, you will only be permitted to leave your home for a total of 4 hours over the course of the 5 days so you should take necessary action now to ensure you have sufficient supplies to see you through the Eid holidays.
You should check locally for planned supermarket opening hours.
For expatriates in the Kingdom with a visit visa (business or tourist for example), you are not currently able to use the Tawakkalna app. This means that you need to be prepared to stay at home throughout the 5 day period of Eid. You should take necessary action now to ensure you have sufficient supplies to see you through the Eid holidays. There is a risk that the 24-hour curfew will be extended, so we advise you to plan on the basis of being confined to your home from 23rd May to 31st May.
