The Saudi Ministry of Interior has confirmed that, as of 0600 this morning and 73 days since the initial lockdown, the Kingdom will begin to return to a ‘new normal’.
From Sunday 21st June, curfews will be lifted and there will be a return of all commercial and economic activities in all cities and regions of the Kingdom. Social distancing and other preventative measures are required in all work places and employees must wear masks.
Gatherings of more than 50 people are not permitted.
You must wear a mask in public at all times and the Saudi authorities continue to stress that there are severe penalties for those breaking the rules including deportation for expatriates.
International flights will remain suspended until further notice however there are some ad hoc flights operating. Both sea and land borders will also remain closed.
AEI’s offices across the Kingdom will remain closed other than for essential tasks and employees will continue to work from home until further notice.
