From everyone here at AEI, we would like to wish you a blessed Ramadan.
Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic Calendar and is the time of the year when Muslims around the world observe by fasting from dawn to dusk.
This year Ramadan is expected to be from the 13th of April – 12th of May 2021. Ramadan will come to an end with Eid al-Fitr (Feast of Breaking the Fast) on the 13th of May, which is a national holiday in Saudi Arabia and most Islamic countries.
Ramadan is a month of fasting, prayer and good deeds. Below we have listed a brief guide to the best practices for people not observing Ramadan to remain courteous and avoid causing offence:
- Not to eat or drink in the presence of Muslims during the daylight hours.
- Not to smoke or chew gum in the presence of Muslims during Ramadan.
- Not to use profane words or gestures during Ramadan.
- Most restaurants are open only after sunset during Ramadan.
