Doing business in Saudi requires presence in the market, and most nationalities will need a visa to get there.

How difficult is it to get a visa?

The visa process can be difficult but our goal is to make the process as hassle-free as possible. We know the process well and, as such, visa applications done through AEI are rarely rejected.

Can my business remain independent?

AEI is a dedicated market entry consultancy helping our clients to connect with the market and the right local Saudi partners. If your company is going through the process of evaluating and selecting the right local partners, remember that sourcing your visa from an ‘independent’ third party such as AEI puts your initial negotiations on a much stronger footing.

 What about residency visas?

If you would like to know more about how you can deploy permanent staff on residency visas in the Kingdom, please refer to our Manpower Services page.

How much does it cost?

We charge SR900 as a service fee for providing the necessary Letter of Invitation (LOI) and assistance to prepare your visa application paperwork in order for you to apply for a visa at the Saudi Embassy/Consulate in your country.

The fee charged by AEI does not cover the following:

  • The cost of the visa itself, as well as the application to the Embassy/Consulate – applicants will pay a separate fee to any UK visa agent chosen to handle their application. More information on visa pricing can be found below.
  • Any additional ‘pre-approval’ for male applicants that may be required.

Please note that, in the event that your subsequent application to the Embassy/Consulate is unsuccessful, we cannot issue a refund unless the rejection is caused by a problem with the LOI issued by AEI. In most countries, the submission of the visa application is done through a visa agent. The visa agent will charge a fee for handling the visa application submission process. The below table shows the fees that the Saudi Embassy/Consulate charges for different visa options and nationalities:

90 days (single)
180 days (multiple)
365 days (multiple)

N.B. the amounts above do not include the fee the Embassy/Consulate charges for issuing mandatory emergency medical insurance, which can cost between SR150 and SR1,100 depending on visa duration and the applicant’s age.

Please note, the information provided is based on our experience in dealing with the Saudi embassy and/or visa agent offices. The embassy can at their own discretion ask for further proof, paperwork, approvals etc. AEI will not be held responsible for any rules or fees that are changed by the Saudi embassy or government without prior notice.

Invitation letters for commercial and work visit visas that were used before, are no longer available. The new rule also impacts certain visa eligibility conditions and extends the overall lead time for business visitors to enter Saudi Arabi.

Pre-approval for a business visit visa can be obtained electronically through the MOFA website.

According to Saudi immigration regulations, a Business visit visa is available to investors, company owners, members of boards of directors, managers and other company representatives. It is not clear whether or not applicants with technical skills will be able to obtain the business visit visa.
